Shanghai International Maritime Forum – “Global Focus on Oil Transportation and Marine Environment Protection”

The Group was invited to participate in the Shanghai International Maritime Forum held in Shanghai on 7 and 8 November. A Group delegation comprising of Chao Wu of the UK club, Patrick Wang of Skuld Hong Kong and Hugh Hurst attended the Form and presentations were made by Hugh Hurst on legal issues related to compensation for ship source oil pollution and by Chao Wu on shipowners’ responsibility on global environmental protection. Other presenters at the Forum included Dr Tosh Moller of ITOPF, Toby Stone of the UK MCA, the Director of the IOPC Funds and the chairman of the IMO MEPC.
