Third meeting of the IOPC Funds Fourth Intersessional Working Group on Non-Technical measures to promote Quality Shipping for Carriage of Oil by Sea

The third meeting of the working group was held during the IOPC Funds meetings held in Montréal from 12 to 15 June 2007. On the basis of the previous submissions made on behalf of the IG to the working group, and following meetings/discussions with the Funds Director and the working group Chairperson, it was not deemed necessary at this time to make any further written submission on behalf of the Group although a number of oral interventions were made in relation to the proposals for a study by CMI on regional and national barriers and impediments to free exchange of information between insurers and in relation to the joint proposal by Canada and France to investigate the possibility for withdrawal of CLC certificates on grounds of substandard quality. The working group will continue to address these issues and is expected to conclude its remit within 2008.
