Memorandum of Understanding signed between IGP&I Clubs and the US Department of Interior
The IG attended the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony held on 1 November 2011 in DOI's Washington DC headquarters. The MoU was signed by Colin Williams, chairman of the IG Pollution Subcommittee and Lori Faeth, DOI's deputy assistant secretary for policy and international affairs. The purpose of this MoU is to promote cooperation in relation to restoration of damaged natural resources and response actions as a result of ship-source oil spills. ITOPF also attended this ceremony. Its role is addressed in the MoU as a key player in providing relevant technical expertise.
