IMO Legal Committee - International Group attendance

The Group attended and took a full and active role in both the 99th session of the IMO Legal Committee that was held in London from 16 – 20 April. The Legal Committee's main agenda items included the proposal to increase the limits of liability contained in the Protocol of 1996 to amend the International Convention on Limitation of Liability for Maritime Claims (LLMC) and consideration of the development of a liability and compensation regime for pollution damage resulting from offshore oil exploration and exploitation. The Legal Committee agreed a 51% increase to the limits of liability contained in the 1996 Protocol.

Announcing the International Group of P&I Clubs Fellowship in International Maritime Law 2021-2022

The International Group of P&I Clubs is delighted to announce the establishment of a fellowship for the academic year 2021-2022 for a student pursuing Master of Laws (LL.M.) studies in International Maritime Law at the IMO International Maritime Law Institute (IMLI) based in Malta.
