IMO MSC - Intersessional Maritime Security and Piracy Working Group - IG attendance

The Group attended and took an active role in the Intersessional Maritime Security and Piracy Working Group of the Maritime Safety Committee, which met at IMO Headquarters in London from 13 to 15 September 2011. The Working Group approved further interim guidance on the use of privately contracted armed security personnel (PCASP) on board ships to counter Somali-based piracy. Both interim recommendations to Flag States and interim Guidance to Shipowners, Ship Operators and Ship Masters were revised. In addition interim recommendations for port and coastal States were approved. All circulars can be downloaded from the piracy section - IMO Circulars page.

Announcing the International Group of P&I Clubs Fellowship in International Maritime Law 2021-2022

The International Group of P&I Clubs is delighted to announce the establishment of a fellowship for the academic year 2021-2022 for a student pursuing Master of Laws (LL.M.) studies in International Maritime Law at the IMO International Maritime Law Institute (IMLI) based in Malta.
