International Group signs updated MoU in the US with NOAA

The International Group recently signed an updated Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in Washington DC.

The MoU is an update from the existing MoU signed in 2007 and seeks to clarify the co-operation between individual Group Clubs, NOAA and its co-Trustees in the event of a ship source oil spill in US waters.  The aim of the MOU is to promote expeditious and cost-effective restoration of injured natural resources and services resulting from ship-source oil spills and from response actions to address the threat of an oil spill in the US, as authorized by the US Oil Pollution Act of 1990 and as determined by the Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA).
